What is a good, natural, effective way to get rid of heartburn?

I have acid reflux. I used to take Prevacid for it, but it doesn’t work anymore. But I still have heartburn. What can I do to get rid of it
I can do all but the caffiene. I am a bear in the morning. I need it just to process simple functions.
Um. EVERYTHING, or just about everything, gives me heartburn.

    try half a glass of water with a teaspoon of Baking Soda. It will get rid of the acid, and also give you one large burp

    i had it bad when i was pregant and I used peppermint cordial sometimes and sometimes a glass of milk. Both worked wonders

    Switch to a bland diet. . . lots of dairy products. Things to cut out: fried food, citric acidy foods including tomatoes, corn products, black pepper, caffine. Cutting these items out of diet will make huge difference.

    i take tums. but you can also drink milk. do not take baking soda. i have a relative who had a heart attack, that may have been caused by taking baking soda.
    drink milk or try tums.

    I slso have acid reflux and the best thing for me is a little bakig soda in warm water and sip on a can of soda mice and cold during the day for periods that just flare up.

    Have you tried using one tspn. Baking soda in a glass of warm water? Have you tried other meds beside Prevacid?

    A half glass of milk coats your stomach and keeps acid levels ( the producers of heartburn )down

    It may sound odd, but two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. It works like a charm!

    dont eat the stuff that gives you heartburn in the first place

    dont eat for 3 hours before going to bed and stay upright at least for 2 hours after eating. also, elevate the head of the bed (put books under the top legs of the bed). stay away from foods that others have listed and have a bland diet. . . it may take a while to get better. . . .

    Cut the grisl of your meat and feed it to the dog/cat. Too much fat in your diet increases acid production and the coses acid reflux. Milk contains fat and cheese and butter are made from the fat from milk. Cut out Derry products from your diet, and start using soy products. And don’t eat a foul meal before going to bed. Cracker’s or a lite snack is suffusion. cut out drinking alcohol and smoking ,thy also increase acid production. Or start eating antacid’s by the hand foul’s.
