Question by Arei: SOMETHING is wrong with my lungs, I’m freakin paranoid, I need help so I can stop worrying and make it worse!
Ok, since about the middle of 7th grade (i’m going to be in 12th grade now) I’ve had some sort of breathing problem. I don’t have an extreme shortness of breath after exercise, in fact that doesnt even irritate it. I just feel like I can’t breathe properly. Everytime I do one of those stupid peakflow things, its never where it needs to be, its not bad but its not good. Allergies and asthma have been ruled out, nothing odd has showed up on X-rays (last one was in March).

I’ve had 2 times where I had extreme pain all over my chest (its been 4 years), and of course when I get upset the problem worsens.

I’ve been doing some acupuncture and the only thing that is off is my lungs. I mention that I’ve never been quite normal on the peakflow but I don’t have asthma (I think when I was younger it still wasnt perfect, but it was not as bad as it is). I was thinking it was stress related, its somewhat like that “acid reflux” I had for a few years that went away, and they couldnt find the cause.
So basically I have

-Trouble taking deep breathes
-VERY prone to sinus infections/bronchitis (this started happening about 8th grade)
-Random dull chest pains, mostly on right side of chest (its not my heart I feel)

The doctor threw out Lung fibrosis and I nearly screamed my head off. (doesn’t that not really show up till you’re much older?)

So yeah, I don’t THINK its that, but I want to see a specialist before I kill myself worrying about it X__X Back whenever I had that stomach issue when I was small I became really paranoid about being sick XP (I also thought about how much popcorn I eat and that pop corn lung… but i dont really breath it in that much, but I do it eat it alot)

Anyway, I’m scared, and scared makes it worse, obviously XP I also had the flu for the first time back in march and that kind of threw everything out of whack for awhile, I strained my muscles pretty bad coughing.
I’m HOPING that its just stress induced, which is possible.

I don’t doubt now all the crap that happen with my dad and stuff when I was little caused all of the stress to hit me at once XP All of this started shortly after I had moved to a place where I was stressed out more then I ever could imagine X__X I really hope its nothing but anxeity and will pass whenever I can get out of here…
I don’t have allergies and I don’t have asthma. Activity doesn’t make me short of breath.

They tested and tested me over and over for those sorts of things X_X

Aw sweetie. I’m so sorry you’re not feeling well.

Have you looked into the possibility that you’re having an anxiety situation? This sounds a bit like a panic attack. Are you stressed?

The fact that they haven’t been able to pinpoint anything in about 5 years leads me to think it might be a psychological problem. And stressing about not feeling good might be making it worse.

You might want to take a look at some anti-anxiety therapy…at least it will make you feel better in general, even if it doesn’t help the breathing issue!

Question Judy : My son is 9 months has acid reflux pretty bad, now it starts dining “table” food, I need help … I want to make sure he re ilo fruit and veges etc, but do not want her reflux worse. some extra information-ments its current pediatriction of a kind of silent dain when I told him I thought he had reflux – “all the b b sr gurgitent, blah blah blah” – I d go up a new city in two weeks and will be A search of Dr. again .. in the meantime I am looking for advice on food give it to facilitate his stomach, but still help move towards new levels of food. My son had this medicine me when he started on solid data I gave him Gas drops b b before meals, depending on the dosage appropriate e. He aid s get this vegetables and fruits in the g not without spitting and vomiting. Good luck and definitely get a new document, follow your instincts.
