I though you only get heartburn after eatting something. How come i woke up with it?
I ocassionally get heartburn after eatting something, like something starchy, etc. But i thought you only got heartburn after eatting something This morning, i woke up with horrible heartburn! It hurts to even drink anything. I went to bed early last night, and woke up late this morning. Is it normal to wake-up with heartburn
I will admit, i am not the healtiest person. I do smoke cigarettes i am 24 years old, a little overweight.

You can get heartburn anytime. . . regardless of what and when you eat, you always have acid in your stomach. Smoking and weight can affect this. You mentioned going to bed early last night. . . how long after you ate did you go to bed. You should sit up 30mins to 2 hours after eating (depending on the severity of your symptoms). It sounds like you have chronic reflux (GERD). You can try OTC meds like Tums, prevacid, pepcid and zantac. If these don’t help, see your doctor.

You probably have acid reflux. If you have some Tums around the house, taking a couple may help
A few things you can do to alleviate the reflux in the future:
1. Go to bed at least 3 hours after eating.
2. Try avoiding tomatoes, coffee, chocolate and alcohol.
If your heartburn continues, see a medical professional – there are medications out there that can help you.

I get heartburn alot myself so I feel your pain. Especially at night. When I lay flat or try to lay on my stomach is when its the worst. The acid is coming back up into your esophagus. If this happens again try elevating your head on some pillows. My doc told me to put something under the head of my bed (couple 2×4′s)to elevate it some and it does help.

This may be acid reflux going up your trachea and acid usually feels like a burning sensation. The best remedy for it is Nexium which is prescribed by your doctor. You need to go and get it diagnosed first to see if it actually acid reflux.
Good luck as if it is, Nexium not only get rid of the burn feeling, but heals the passage way as well.

Yeah u could & usually get heart burn first thing in the morning as the nocturnal acid production increases due to faulty food habits & as heart burn is due to the reflux of this acid in food pipe that is esophagus & while lying down the valve at junction of esophagus & stomach relaxes & so the acid reflux in food pipe & causes burning.
Cigrette smoking increases the acid production & damages lining of stomach & so smokers are more prone to heartburn & acidity.
Obesity also relaxes the valve & causes reflux.
Avoid eating junk food & spicy good ,stop smoking as otherwise also this is very harmful to health. U r only 24 yrs old & for living a healthy & long life stop smoking & take care of ur health.
Get some antacids & omeprazole.

Heartburn just comes with age. It gets worse if you are overweight or if you keep eating high acidic foods and drinks constant. Big culprits that cause it bad are soda’s, sweet liquors, and greasy/spicy foods. Some people have personal trigger foods. Some people say banana’s cause them heartburn or tomato’s. You just have to test what you ate the day before anfd then try not eating again until later. If you eat again and it happens then all you can do is never eat it again. You can go to the doctor, but they’ll just tell you to limit those foods, too.
