may help some, but I think it is related to the sphincter of maturation. . . and I think the best set of solid in your stomach and are harder to back up, but my dd still has some reflux in a year, but it was bad when I was a baby. . .

I thought starting solids would help you, and I think we made some. But my son still returns, and in a way that I think is worse, because now is not only food and milk. My son is army crawling and it happens very often. I'm waiting for the moment he is a year that will walk and not spit up so much. Sorry, this is not helpful and not the answer he wanted - but it's the truth or my truth.

My daughter is 6 months old and was diagnosed with acid reflex since he was 7wks old. And what I found is that when it started in its solid as cereals, maintained that down without any problems. And I know most people say to wait but started her on cereal when he was 31 / 2 months old. And what I did was give on 2tbls single grain cereal with about 1 ounce of pear juice and mix well together so it is not too thick or thin, but just enough so they can eat. And then I think she and wait about 20 minutes or 30 for the grain to settle before giving a bottle of 4 oz. But after doing research on my own I have discovered that adding cereal to his bottle will help keep his formula down. While her lil guy can keep a solid bottom as cereal then I think a little cereal in a bottle could work to help keep it down. Also another finding that I have found to help after a meal was kept in vertical position if it can be at least 20 to 30 min. Like I have to rest on something that is not pressure on the stomach and helps digest food better. And so far this formula of good luck, we had to change our daughter 3 times before finding one that works. We use Nestle goodstart easy to digest formula. Looks like a good job with it and when you add the cereal in it, not make it too thick to drink. Good luck. Oh, and I know that some people will disagree with the cereal in the bottle, but it's up to you and what you want to test. And one more thing that helps is that it gives our daughter Axcid twice a day. His DR. has to prescribe and that the forthcoming visit to ask about this if not put your child on any medication yet.

Some babies will better handle the solids and the solids reflux improves because they are thicker than milk and less likely to get, but some babies may actually worsen in solids. Most babies with GERD do not improve, at least, a little after 6 months, but mainly because of their sphincter muscle of maturing as another poster mentioned. With my son, he improved with cereal in his bottle to thicken the milk, along with taking Prevacid. It became a very different baby and stopped their milk as much reflux. I did not notice a big difference with solids, but I remember going back through a minor setback when he began to sit up, the doctor mentioned it was probably due to increased pressure in his stomach. Once he started feeling better and more regular and was thicker in solids, we have seen an improvement even better. In fact, I doubt you have heard reflux in a couple of months. We are still hoping he can leave from next month Prevacid!

I guess her to decline after 6 months. . . Not the case with my lil one, has "calmed down" a bit small, but very similar to the other response, where she runs the floor is a circle of vomit on the floor behind her lol. He was asked to put cereal in the bottle, Zantac givi, nothing worked. So you've been out of the cereal in the bottle from 2 months on and off the Zantac since 4. 5 months, because it was useless, and now that is over 6 months, the doc does zantac and she in anyway, sorry there isn't much you can do, but if the baby is gaining weight, then hes just going to be a "Happy Spitter"
