Just continue to take the omeprazole – if that doesn’t work after several months, you may want to try esmeprozole (sp?). . . if that doesn’t work, you may need surgical intervention.

A recent survey on acid reflux conducted at the earth clinic web site ranked apple cider vinegar (ACV) as the best of all the home remedies suggested to relieve the symptoms of occasional heartburn or acid reflux
If you are concerned about possible side effects with prescription drugs or even over-the-counter medications, use a tonic of apple cider vinegar (two teaspoons in an 8 ounce glass of water) before meals as an all natural way to alleviate occasional heartburn symptoms or as a preventative practice.
The reference below includes some recent testimonials by people using ACV for heartburn.

kristina is right about Zantac, that works best for me.
Pepto Bismol is worth a try, as well as Tums and Rolaids
For extra strength also try Gaviscon
